Mumbai: Arjun Kapoor is quite close to his sister Anshula Kapoor. While he has now bonded with his half-sisters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor after Sridevi's demise in 2018, not a long ago, the actor revealed that it feels ‘very strange’ and ‘new’ whenever Janhvi calls him ‘Arjun bhaiyya’.

In a recent Clubhouse session attended by Arjun Kapoor, the actor was asked about an episode of Karan Johar’s chatshow with Janhvi Kapoor where ‘Arjun bhaiyya’ was translated as ‘Brother Arjun.’ To this, Arjun replied that ‘Brother Arjun’ sounds ‘a bit religious’ to him and said, “The thing is, ‘Arjun bhaiyya’ still sounds very strange to me, only because Anshula calls me ‘bhai’ in a very strange way. ‘Arjun bhaiyya’ is a very new thing. So, when Janhvi says that, it still feels very, very new to me, actually.”

He further added that he has never asked Janhvi to call him by any specific name. “I think it just comes very naturally to Janhvi to call me ‘Arjun bhaiyya’ because I have never even told her, ‘You should call me this’ or call me that,” he explained.

For the unversed, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor are Boney Kapoor’s two children from his first marriage to Mona Shourie Kapoor. Later in 1996, Boney tied the knot with Sridevi and was blessed with two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.

The family grew closed after Sridevi passed away in 2018 due to accidental drowning as Arjun and Anshula supported Boney, Janhvi and Khushi during their tough time.

Earlier on Arjun’s birthday this year, Janhvi had showered love upon him with a heartfelt note that read, “@arjunkapoorit's ur birthday!!! And your year. Thank you for teaching me so fast how much fun it is to have such a great brother. Thnx always for the gyaan but thnx more for the reality checks and food posts. Love u and ennnnnjjjjjjoy (sic)."
