Jharkhand Elections 2024: The date of assembly elections in Jharkhand is near and all the political parties have started campaigning. On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an election rally in Garhwa and Chaibasa in Jharkhand, while during this time, the state Chief Minister Hemant Soren's party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has made a big allegation regarding PM Modi's visit. JMM says that due to Prime Minister Modi's program, Chief Minister Hemant Soren's helicopter was given permission to fly late, which disrupted his rally program.Letter written to the PresidentJMM has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu appealing to give equal opportunity to star campaigners in the upcoming assembly elections. JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said in his letter that 'no-fly zone' was declared in Garhwa and Chaibasa due to Prime Minister Modi's visit to Jharkhand. Chief Minister Soren was to address an election meeting at Gudri in West Singhbhum in the afternoon and then at Bazar Tand in Simdega, but citing security protocols, the Chief Minister's helicopter was not allowed to fly. This delayed Hemant Soren's program, causing disruption in his election meeting.JMM's allegation: Obstacle in equal opportunityJMM also wrote in its letter that there was no direct clash between the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister's program, as there was a difference of place and time between the programs of the two. JMM claims that the distance between Chaibasa and Gudri is only 80 km, while Simdega is 90 km away. The party alleges that Chief Minister Hemant Soren's helicopter was prevented from flying for one and a half hours, due to which he could not reach his rally on time. JMM has appealed to the President to intervene in the matter and ensure equal opportunity for all star campaigners.Election dates and preparationsThe Election Commission has recently announced the dates for the Jharkhand Assembly elections. Voting will be held in two phases for 81 assembly seats in the state. The first phase will be held on November 13 and the second phase on November 20. Counting of votes will be held on November 23, after which the election results will be declared.Demand for fair electionsJMM's allegations have further heated up the election atmosphere in Jharkhand. In this matter, the party has demanded fair elections and equal opportunity from the Election Commission and the President. According to JMM, such incidents are not only against the campaign work of political parties but also against the principle of equality in the democratic process. After this letter written to the President, all eyes are on the decision of the Election Commission and the President, so that it can be seen whether any special guidelines are given in this matter or not.ConclusionThe election campaign is going on in full swing in Jharkhand. All political parties have their eyes on the 81 assembly seats of the state, and in this election, the allegations raised regarding the clash of programs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Hemant Soren are making the election atmosphere more sensitive. JMM has sought President's intervention to ensure equality and fairness in the electoral process so that all political parties get equal opportunity to campaign.
