Delhi Elections 2024: Amidst the ongoing assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, election activities have intensified in Delhi as well. Political parties have started gearing up for the upcoming assembly elections in the country's capital. Other parties including Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress are preparing the strategy of their respective campaigns. Amidst all this, former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has made important revelations on ticket distribution and election strategy.

Strict stand on corruption and nepotism

Arvind Kejriwal has clarified the party's policy for the upcoming elections and said that tickets will be given only on the basis of merit, public opinion and winning chances. Kejriwal said,

"No relative, friend, or acquaintance will get a ticket only on the basis of relations. Our priority will be qualified and popular candidates among the public."

Through this statement, Kejriwal has indicated that the party will select its candidates with fairness and transparency.

"We are on the path of truth"

During a meeting with party workers and officials in northwest and west Delhi, Kejriwal claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party will ensure victory in the upcoming elections. He said,

"We have always followed the path of truth. We have the blessings of God and the people. The people of Delhi recognize our work and will give us a chance again."

This confidence of Kejriwal is based on the work done by his government, such as education, health and electricity-water policies.

Described the election as 'Dharma Yudh'

Kejriwal has termed the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections as 'Dharma Yudh'. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will try to win the elections at all costs, but the Aam Aadmi Party will win this battle with the support of the people. Addressing the workers, he said,

"Remember, I am contesting the elections on every seat myself. Workers should work with full honesty and dedication."

Election atmosphere in Delhi

The Delhi Assembly elections are likely to be held in February 2025, but political parties have already started their preparations.

AAP's preparation: AAP is working on a strategy to present the achievements of the government in its previous tenure before the public.

BJP's agenda: BJP is preparing to contest the elections with the achievements of the Centre and the promise of new schemes in Delhi.

Congress' strategy: Congress, which wants to regain its lost ground in Delhi, is focusing on strengthening the organisation and activating ground workers.

Emphasis on fair and clean politics

It is clear from Kejriwal's statement that this time too, Aam Aadmi Party will focus on its core principles, such as corruption-free administration and public participation. His complete rejection of nepotism in ticket distribution has sent a positive message among the workers and the public.

Challenges of Aam Aadmi Party

While in power in Delhi, AAP has made many improvements in education, health and basic services. However, it will have to face challenges like weakening the electoral strength of BJP and Congress' base.

Conclusion

There is still time for the Delhi Assembly elections to be announced, but election preparations have started in full swing. While the Aam Aadmi Party under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal will go among the people with its policies and achievements, the BJP and Congress will also enter the fray with full preparation. It will be interesting to see whom the people of Delhi support in the 2025 elections.
