Crime / Man dances on rooftop with pistols in hands after firing at bank guard in UP

A man was arrested for shooting at a guard at Syndicate Bank in Sardhana area of Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district. The accused had made his way to a nearby rooftop, where he was seen dancing and brandishing his pistols in both hands before being arrested. The accused suffered a bullet injury during the police operation and has been hospitalised.

Meerut: Amentally unstable man in Meerut, armed with two country-made pistols in hand, first shot at a security guard of a bank, then went to the rooftop of a building and danced for over 2 hours.

As locals and police personnel reached the spot, he started firing on the policemen while dancing. He was armed with two pistols in hand. Police personnel then shot at the man to bring him down.

The man suffered injuries on his leg but is in a stable condition. The shooting incident caused panic in the area on Wednesday when locals called the police after the guard was shot at.

A video of the incident has gone viral on the internet.

Meerut SSP Ajay Sahni said, “A man shot at a guard at Syndicate Bank in Sardhana area today. When policemen tried to arrest him, he made his way to a nearby rooftop and kept firing from two country-made pistols for 2 hours before he was arrested. He has sustained injuries in one of his legs.”
