DeepSeek AI: China's startup "DeepSeek" has become a topic of discussion everywhere these days. This AI chatbot has affected the shares of big tech companies and reduced the net worth of many billionaires due to its rapidly growing popularity. However, while the technical capability of DeepSeek is being noticed, the questions raised about security have brought it into the circle of controversies. Companies and government agencies are preparing to ban it in their work zone.

Increasing security threats on DeepSeek

DeepSeek's AI chatbot is facing criticism due to potential data leaks and weak privacy security reasons. According to a Bloomberg report, Nadir Israel, Chief Technology Officer of cyber security company Armis Inc., said that hundreds of companies and government agencies have banned DeepSeek. Security is the most important priority for these organizations, and when it comes to data privacy and leaks, they are not ready to take any risks.

Why did Italy and other countries take steps?

Italy has even removed DeepSeek from Apple's App Store and Android's Google Play Store. The reason for this was questions raised on DeepSeek's data management methods. Italy's data regulator has given DeepSeek 20 days to provide full information regarding its privacy policy and data security. Apart from this, Ireland's Data Protection Commission (DPC) has also sought clarification from DeepSeek on the data processing of Irish users.

China and growing challenges in AI

The question now arising before DeepSeek is whether China will lag behind Western countries, especially the US, in AI technology? DeepSeek was developed in just two months, while Open AI took several years to develop ChatGPT. Although DeepSeek attracted attention due to its low cost (like ChatGPT), its hastily introduced model seems weak in terms of privacy and data security.

Criticism of DeepSeek's answers on social media

Memes and jokes are going viral on social media regarding DeepSeek's answers. It is clear from these memes that China still needs to improve this chatbot. Users are not taking it seriously, because many times confusion and inconsistencies are seen in its answers.

Is DeepSeek's future in trouble?

Although DeepSeek has created a stir in the global market due to its low prices, it seems to be lagging behind the US and other Western countries due to its security flaws. China will need to further improve its technology so that it can survive in global competition and solve security issues.

Overall, DeepSeek has started a new chapter in the world of AI, but it will have to take serious steps regarding its privacy and data security, otherwise it may be out of popularity and rapidly growing market even before it can be out of the market.
