Amritsar / Murder of a young man in a dispute over Dargah, case filed against 15 people, incident of village Bagga

In the village Bagga of Mattewal police station area, a person was murdered late on Sunday night in connection with the dargah. Mattewal Police has arrested one accused after registering an FIR for murder and robbery against 15 people in this. Police station in-charge Inspector Gagandeep Singh said that raids are being conducted to arrest the accused in the case.

Mattewal Police has arrested one accused after registering an FIR for murder and robbery against 15 people in this. Police station in-charge Inspector Gagandeep Singh said that raids are being conducted to arrest the accused in the case.

Roshanuddin, a resident of Bagga village, told the police that his ancestors had a dargah and that Jumma and Hajishah often used to play mischief with their companions at their dargah. He used to stop her from coming to the dargah along with his close ones and used to oppose the actions of the accused. Two months back, he had lodged an FIR against the accused regarding this. He told that the accused Jumma reached the dargah late night armed with weapons along with Hajishah, Laldeen, Makhandin, Safi and their 10 unidentified associates to settle the said FIR.

The accused started abusing his son Lal Hussain and his relatives. On resisting this, the accused attacked them with bricks and stones and hit their son with teeth several times on the head, killing Lal Hussain and injuring three others. The accused told the police that the attackers took away about 60 thousand rupees.

Inspector Gagandeep Singh said that an FIR has been registered in this. After the post-mortem of the youth killed in this incident, the body has been handed over to the relatives. He told that Laluddin has been arrested in this in the morning. Different teams of police are conducting raids to arrest the other accused.
