New Delhi : An already married Muslim man has been arrested in Delhi's Jyoti Nagar for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman by fraudulently disguising herself as a Hindu. According to the police, the accused person, identified as Irshad Ali Khan, had befriended the victim in 2011 by giving his name as Guddu Choudhary after coming in contact with the woman.

Delhi Police said that the accused is a lawyer by profession. He claimed to be a Hindu by getting a tattoo of 'Maa Sherawali' on his arm while trying to befriend the victim 11 years ago. The victim had lodged a complaint of harassment with her at Jyoti Nagar police station in North-East Delhi on September 7.

The accused Irshad was the father of two children from the beginning

Police said that Irshad Ali Khan alias Guddu Choudhary Delhi married the woman in the year 2015, claiming to be a Hindu. However, after marriage, the victim came to know the real identity of the accused who was already married and had two children.

Imprisoned at home, also had unnatural sex

Police said that when the woman objected to this and tried to move out of her house and marriage, the accused harassed her and harassed her in other ways. At the same time, he was kept captive within the boundary wall of the house under strict supervision and was rarely allowed to go out. She was also sexually assaulted several times without her consent and also had unnatural sex.

After the medical examination of the woman, several injuries were found on her body. He was also counseled by a professional counselor. On September 8, the police had registered a case under sections 323, 341, 342, 354D, 376, 377, 493, 495 and 506 of the IPC following the complaint of the victim.

DCP (North-East) Sanjay Sen said the accused had kept the victim under close surveillance in Bhopal. We did not get cooperation in the inquiry. When the victim complained to the police station the day before, a case of rape and other offenses was registered. The accused tried to take advantage of his being a lawyer by adopting pressure tactics. We took the Bar Association into confidence and told them all the facts.

According to the official, many more criminal cases have been found against the accused Irshad Ali Khan. The victim told the police that whenever she tried to file a complaint of harassment with the police, she was threatened with death. Police said that Irshad used to threaten her every time that he is a lawyer by profession and knows how to take advantage of the law and no one can take any action against him.

Hiding in a densely populated area

Police said that in the year 2021, Irshad shifted him to Bhopal at a relative's place on his strong protest. He was deliberately kept in a house in a densely populated area with a Muslim population so that he could not get rid of his captivity.

The victim narrated her ordeal and said that the accused had defamed her name everywhere so that she would not get any kind of support from her family. The woman also said that Irshad has threatened to kill her if she is granted bail.
