Punjab Congress Crisis | Doubts remain regarding the post of Navjot Singh Sidhu in Punjab Congress. Meanwhile, Navjot Singh Sidhu has been called to Delhi on Thursday. In Delhi, Sidhu will meet Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat as well as Indian Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary KC Venugopal. Sidhu's meeting with Venugopal and Harish Rawat is also being linked to his resignation. There are also speculations that Navjot Singh Sidhu may withdraw his resignation. Sidhu had posted his resignation on Twitter last month, upset over the appointments and cabinet reshuffle under Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.AICC general secretary and party in-charge of Punjab Rawat said Sidhu will meet him and AICC general secretary (organisation) Venugopal in the national capital and discuss organizational matters related to the party's state unit. Rawat tweeted, "Navjot Singh Sidhu, President Punjab Congress will meet me and Venugopal ji on October 14 at 6 pm in Venugopal ji's office to discuss some organizational matters related to Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee."No decision yet on Sidhu's resignationWhile the AICC is yet to take any decision on Sidhu's resignation, Channi and some state leaders are also trying to persuade the Punjab Congress chief to withdraw his resignation. In a tweet on October 2, Sidhu had said in gestures, 'Will uphold the principles of Gandhiji and Shastriji. Post or no post will stand with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.In the tweet, Sidhu had said that Punjabiyat will winHe had said, "Let all negative forces try to defeat me, but with every ounce of positive energy Punjab will win, Punjabiyat (Universal Brotherhood) will win and every Punjabi will win." Sidhu had earlier held meetings and discussions with party MLAs and leaders and workers regarding the organizational structure. The appointment of office bearers and district heads of the new body of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) is yet to be made. Sidhu was made the Punjab Congress chief in July, despite strong opposition from the then Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
