News Helpline . Mumbai | On this day in 1989, one of the biggest leaders of Kashmiri Pandits, Shri Tika Lal Taploo Ji was killed by militants; veteran actor Anupam Kher expressing his grief on the same remembered the leader.
The ’Accidential Prime Minister’ took to his social media handle and penned down few lines for him. In his post he stated that after the death of Shri Tika Lal Taploo the suffering of Kashmiri Pandit started, though it’s been years, but the sacrifice of Tika will always be etched in the mind.The Twitter handle of Anupam read, “39 years ago today, a 59-year-old social worker Shri Tika Lal Taploo Ji was murdered by terrorists in Srinagar on 14 September. And from here began a long series of atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits. #KPMartyrsDay" he tweeted (roughly translated from Hindi)."Even if these wounds are healed. But it is not forgotten, and should not be forgotten," he added.Meanwhile on the work front, Anupam will be seen lending his voice for the computer animated film, ‘Koochie Koochie Hota Hai’. The film is directed by Tarun Mansukhani and co-produced by Dharma Productions and Prana Studios. The film is an animated remake of the 1998 Blockbuster film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, with an anthropomorphic cast of farm animals.It also stars the voices of Shahrukh Khan, Kajol Devgn, Rani Mukherji, Riteish Deshmukh, Simi Grewal, Uday Chopra, Sajid Khan and Sanjay Dutt.The film was set for a release back in 2011, but it was shelved. Later it was revealed that the film is scheduled to release in February 14, 2021.
