Cricket Desk: Young opening batsman Devdutt Padikkal and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli's innings helped the franchise move to the top of the table with a comprehensive eight-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals (RR).

The 15th match of the Indian Premier League saw action between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match saw a terrific comeback from skipper Virat Kohli as he played an unbeaten knock of 72 off 53 balls.

Padikkal was dismissed only in the 16th over as RCB registered a comfortable win Steve Smith's Men in Pink.

Batting first, Royals posted 154/6 on board, and Bangalore chased the target like an easy catch and won the contest by eight wickets with five balls to spare. Batting first, the opening order of Rajasthan Royals didn’t do any good to the team.

20-year-old Padikkal has been quite consistent in his show from day one and is leaving no stone unturned in lending his contribution to the team. In the same light, he came up with a tweet that threw light on his journey. It stated- “Passion. Purpose. Progress.”

Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal will be next seen in action against Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals (DC) on October 5 at the Dubai International Stadium.
