India-Pakistan Relations: More than 50 countries of the world have congratulated Narendra Modi, who is going to become the Prime Minister of India for a record third time, but Pakistan has not yet congratulated Modi. But now Pakistan said on Friday that it wants 'cooperative relations' with all neighbors including India and resolution of disputes through dialogue. This comment of Pakistan has come after Narendra Modi was elected to the post of Prime Minister for a record third time.

Addressing her weekly press conference, Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that despite the difficulties and rhetoric coming from India, Pakistan is working responsibly. She said, "Pakistan has always wanted cooperative relations with all its neighbors including India. We have constantly advocated constructive dialogue and participation to resolve all pending issues including major disputes like Jammu and Kashmir. "

India-Pakistan relations are tense

Pakistan downgraded its relations with India after the Indian government repealed some provisions of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. Pakistan believes the decision has weakened the atmosphere for dialogue between the neighbours. India has consistently maintained that it wants normal neighbourly relations with Pakistan but has insisted that it is Islamabad's responsibility to create an environment free of terrorism and hostility for such relations. "Pakistan believes in maintaining peace. We hope that India will take steps to maintain peace and create a conducive environment for dialogue and resolution of long-standing disputes for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries," Baloch said.
