Before him, Dhoni and Wriddhiman Saha had taken 100 wickets in 36 Test matches. At the same time, Kiran More had 39, Nayan Mongia 41 and Syed Kirmani had 100 victims in 42 Test matches. The record for the fastest 100 in world cricket is held by South African wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock, who achieved this feat in 22 matches.

Pant is the sixth Indian wicketkeeper to have 100 or more wickets in Test cricket. Before him, Dhoni, Kiran More, Nayan Mongia and Syed Kirmani have done this feat. Dhoni is at the top in this matter and has 294 Test victims to his name. Pant had scored 1000 Test runs in 27 innings, breaking Dhoni's record in January 2021.
