'Tea made from drops that cause impotence'

A controversy has erupted over former Kerala Congress leader George asking non-Muslims in the state to refrain from restaurants run by the Muslim community. Addressing an event organized as part of the ongoing Anantapuri Hindu Maha Sammelan here on Friday, George had alleged that restaurants run by Muslims were selling tea made from "drops that cause impotence", aimed at the country. To gain control is to take away people's ability to procreate.

George, 70, who represented the Poonjar seat in the Kerala Assembly for 33 years, had also urged non-Muslims to boycott businesses run by Muslims. George's remarks were condemned by the ruling CPI(M) and the opposition Congress in the state.
