Earlier prices increased in Karnataka

Earlier petrol and diesel had become expensive in Karnataka. The Congress Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka had decided to increase the price of petrol by Rs 3 and diesel by about Rs 3.05 per liter. This increase was done after the revision of sales tax. Due to this, the price of petrol in the state has increased by Rs 3 from Rs 99.84 to Rs 102.84 per liter. The price of diesel has increased by Rs 3.02 from Rs 85.93 to Rs 88.95 per liter. The Petroleum Dealers Association has blamed the revised sales tax for this increase. This tax has increased from 25.92% to 29.84% for petrol and from 14.3% to 18.4% for diesel.
