Delhi Air Pollution: The rising air pollution in Delhi has made life difficult for people. The capital is currently facing a medical emergency-like situation. Regarding this serious situation, Delhi's Environment Minister Gopal Rai has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene. Rai has accused the central government that despite writing letters and appeals repeatedly, no action is being taken on the problem of pollution.

'Delhi is going through a medical emergency'

Gopal Rai said that the level of air pollution in Delhi and entire North India has remained dangerous for the last three days. He said that the fourth level rules have been implemented under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Restrictions have been imposed on private and commercial vehicles, but the blanket of smog is not breaking.

Rai said, "There is a situation like a medical emergency in Delhi. At this time only strong winds or artificial rain can reduce pollution. For this, we started preparations from August itself. But there was no response to the letters sent to get approval from the central government."

'No response despite repeated appeals'

Rai said that he wrote letters to the Center on 30 August, 10 October, and 23 October for artificial rain, but did not get any concrete response. He said that an online meeting was held with the Union Agriculture and Environment Minister in October, but even after that no concrete steps were taken.

Rai raised the question, "If we had appealed to any foreign minister so many times, then perhaps he would have also called a meeting. But the ministers of our own country are sitting silent in this serious situation. Prime Minister Modi should intervene in this matter and find a solution as soon as possible." 'Demand for meeting for artificial rain'

Gopal Rai said that the problem of pollution is getting more serious due to the inaction of the central government. He said, "The smog in Delhi will go away only when either strong winds blow or artificial rain is made. I am writing a letter to Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav today and appealing to call an emergency meeting immediately."

'Strictness needed in BJP ruled states'

Gopal Rai has also appealed to the BJP ruled states to strictly enforce the rules of pollution control in their respective states. He said, "Delhi cannot bear this pollution alone. All the states will have to find a solution to this problem together. The Center should take the lead in this direction."

Delhi's situation is very serious

Delhi's pollution level has once again highlighted the environmental crisis across the country. Experts say that unless the central and state governments work together, it is not possible to solve this problem.

Gopal Rai's appeal has raised questions on the inaction of the central government towards the pollution crisis. It remains to be seen what action PM Modi and the Union Environment Minister take on this issue. For now, the citizens of Delhi are hoping for a clean and safe air.
