Relief / Preparations to remove all restrictions of Corona in Maharashtra from April 1, awaiting CM Uddhav's order

The state government is preparing to relax restrictions after a sharp drop in corona cases in Maharashtra. The state executive committee has decided to lift almost all restrictions as per the directions of the central government, but a final decision will be taken by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray after consultations with the state-appointed task force and other officials. However, wearing a mask will be mandatory.

What are the restrictions currently

The state has currently made double-dose vaccination mandatory for those entering establishments including malls and theatres, and traveling by public transport. Strict restrictions have been imposed for districts not meeting the prescribed criteria for exemption based on vaccination percentage and positivity rate. Restrictions in such places include restrictions on political, social and religious gatherings. Only 50 per cent of the total capacity is allowed in malls, theatres, shopping complexes, restaurants and other places.

After lifting the restrictions, all activities will be normal as before

Removal of restrictions will mean that all activities will be like the situation before Corona. There will be no restriction on non-vaccinated citizens using public transport or attending weddings, political and social events. A ministry official said.

Another senior state government official said that the central government has asked us to end the corona restrictions and it was discussed in detail. We will remove restrictions such as vaccine requirements for people using public transport or going to theatres.
