IND vs PAK: Today, the cricket match between India and Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025 has become a topic of discussion across the country. This is the first time that the teams of both the countries will face each other after the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April and Operation Sindoor on 7 May. There is a strong protest across the country regarding this match. Political parties, social organizations and common people have come out on the streets against the organization of this match.

Shiv Sena (UBT) agitation

Shiv Sena (UBT) has started a massive agitation in Maharashtra, especially Mumbai, against this match. Party workers have come out on the streets and are protesting with two separate chests to collect donations to the BCCI. Along with this, women are sending sindoor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is a symbolic step in memory of those martyred in the Pahalgam attack.

Shiv Sena has written a letter to Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav demanding to stop the broadcast of today's match. The party says, "If there is no trade with blood-shedding Pakistan, then why play? Why blood and sport together?" In Mumbai, cricket lovers broke five TVs simultaneously in protest and appealed to the people not to watch the telecast of this match.

Owaisi attacks the government

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has also slammed the central government on this issue. He said, "My question to the Chief Minister of Assam, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and everyone is that do you not have the courage to refuse to play a cricket match against Pakistan? Would you still play cricket if your daughter was killed?" Owaisi, referring to the 26 civilians killed in the Pahalgam attack, raised the question whether the money of cricket is more valuable than the lives of those people?

#BoycottINDvPAK trends on social media

#BoycottINDvPAK and #PahalgamTerroristAttack hashtags are trending on social media platform X. People are demanding the cancellation of this match and saying that playing with those who killed our own people is not acceptable.

Support of Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad

National president of Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad Gopal Rai took a different view and said, "India has always won and will always win. Our Prime Minister avenged the killing of innocent people in Pahalgam through Operation Sindoor. Some people are opposing this match, but we feel that if we do not play, how will the world know that India has the capability to defeat Pakistan? We stand with our cricketers." Saurabh Bhardwaj's effigy burnt

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj along with party workers burnt the effigy of Pakistani players in Delhi. He said, "This is a grave insult to the women who lost their husbands in the Pahalgam attack. Yet our central leadership is organising this match."

Aishnya, wife of Kanpur businessman Shubham Dwivedi, who was killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, has appealed to the people to boycott this match. She accused the BCCI of disregarding the sentiments of the victim families.
