Delhi / Punjab CM meets Congress President Sonia Gandhi in Delhi.

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh met with Congress President & spokeswoman Sonia Gandhi amid talks about a possible cabinet move in the state on Tuesday. This is Singh's first meeting with Ms Gandhi after the appointment of Navjot Singh Sidhu as President of the Punjab Congress.

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh met with Congress President & spokeswoman Sonia Gandhi amid talks about a possible cabinet move in the state on Tuesday. This is Singh's first meeting with Ms Gandhi after the appointment of Navjot Singh Sidhu as President of the Punjab Congress. 


The minister had initially lodged an objection.  Sources said Singh is likely to discuss the names of possible candidates for the reshuffle and the political situation in Punjab who will run for election early next year. 


They said Mr Singh was likely to take up Mr Sidhu's continuous attacks on the Punjab government with Ms Gandhi. The Chief Minister should also discuss progress on 18 issues raised by an AICC panel led by Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and report on the action taken.  


The 18 topics include actions against the drug mafia and the transport mafia and those involved in the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib.
