The Indian team is on its way to a 3-0 victory in the ongoing Freedom Trophy 2019 against South Africa. Thanks to 212 from Rohit Sharma, 115 from Ajinkya Rahane and 51 from Ravindra Jadeja, the hosts put on a formidable 497/9 and declared their first innings with a lot of time in hands. Meanwhile, George Linde, the debutant picked four wickets being the most successful bowler for Proteas.

Unfortunately, the South African batting has deteriorated from their first innings show in Vizag Test, as Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami, along with Jadeja and debutant Shahbaz Nadeem ran through the opposition batting lineup. Zubayr Hamza made 62, while Bavuma and Linde contributed 32 and 37 runs respectively, as their innings ended on 162 and Kohli enforced the follow-on.

During all this brouhaha, Indian coach Ravi Shastri, who is quite a laid-back character, was found taking a siesta in the pavilion. Shastri who is known for his simple attitude towards life of enjoying it to the full was happily napping away, as Umesh Yadav and Shami wreaked havoc in the second innings as well. Shami picked three wickets and sent Dean Elgar to the hospital with a concussion, while Yadav added two more wickets to his kitty.

The Twitterverse was more than happy to take the opportunity of a lifetime and trolled Shastri for being asleep on the job, despite being paid INR 10 crores annually as the head coach. The effect became much more amazing as youngster Shubman Gill was captured in the same photo looking puzzled with the proceedings.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has been the star with the bat for the home side with more than 500 runs to his name, while Mayank Agarwal and Virat Kohli also scored double hundreds in the series. There were important contributions from Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane and even Umesh Yadav with the bat.

With the ball, R Ashwin picked a 7-wicket haul in Vizag, while Mohammad Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, and Umesh Yadav have done exceedingly well, despite the fact that India is missing their best bowler at the moment, Jasprit Bumrah, while even Ishant Sharma was left out for the Ranchi Test.
