Punjab won the toss and elected to bowl at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Chandigarh. Batting first, Bangalore scored 174 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Punjab got all out for 150 runs in 18.2 overs.

Second: Vanindu Hasaranga bowled Matthew Short on the first ball of the third over.

Third: Mohammad Siraj LWB to Livingstone on the second ball of the fourth over.

Fourth: Harpreet was runout by Siraj on the third ball of the sixth over.

Fifth: Sam Karen was run out on the 5th ball of the 10th over. He was run out by Hasaranga.

Virat Kohli, captaining Bengaluru after 556 days, scored his 48th half-century in the league. He completed Fifty on 40 balls. Virat has scored the fourth half-century of the season. Kohli scored 59 runs in 47 balls at a strike rate of 125.53. Kohli's innings included 5 fours and a six. 600 fours were also completed in his IPL.

Du Plessis scored a half-century on 31 balls

Faf du Plessis scored the 29th half-century of his league career. This is du Plessis' fourth half-century in the current season. He completed Fifty on 31 balls. Not only this, Du Plessis has also completed 300 runs this season. He has become the first batsman to do so.

Plessis scored 84 runs in 56 balls at a strike rate of 150.00. This innings included 5 fours and 5 sixes.
