Gaza News: How big the problem of providing humanitarian relief to Gaza is amid Israeli sanctions has once again been exposed. In fact, many countries are forced to resort to aircraft to deliver relief material. In this sequence, on Friday the parachute of the plane could not open on time. Due to which the parcels containing relief material fell on the heads of the citizens. Five people have died in this accident, many others have been injured. The accident happened near Shati refugee camp in Gaza City when people were standing in line waiting for aid packages. The media office of the Gaza government has confirmed the number of people who lost their lives in this accident.

Use of airplane is a publicity stunt

The Gaza government's media office has called the airdrop useless and said it is being used as lucrative propaganda rather than a humanitarian service. Also advocated for transportation of relief material through the borders. Last week, more than 100 people were killed when Israeli forces opened fire near an aid convoy in Gaza. The Israeli army has said that most of the people died in the stampede. Palestinian officials and witnesses deny this. The UN office reported last month that at least half a million people, or one in four, in Gaza feared famine.

More than 30 thousand deaths in five months

UNRWA, the main UN agency in Gaza, claims that since January 23, Israeli authorities have prevented them from taking supplies to the northern part of the strip. The World Food Program had suspended deliveries to Gaza due to security concerns. After which countries like Egypt, America, Jordan, United Arab Emirates started the work of delivering food and water with the help of airdrop. However, relief organizations have criticized this method as expensive and ineffective. Meanwhile, the United Nations has warned that if nothing is done in time, it is impossible to stop the famine in the Gaza Strip. Health officials in Gaza said more than 30,000 people have been killed in the strip during the five-month conflict.
