Pahalgam Attack: Five days have passed since the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, but Pakistan's fear has still not diminished. This fear is clearly visible in its inner steps. On one hand, Section 144 has been imposed in a big city like Karachi, while on the other hand, the political and military leadership is continuously holding high-level meetings in Islamabad.Pakistan comes into action, Foreign Minister cancels Bangladesh visitThe restlessness of Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar can be gauged from the fact that he has even canceled his scheduled Bangladesh visit. Dar is holding two to three meetings daily, in which strategies are being prepared regarding regional tensions. At the same time, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir are also holding separate review meetings, so that they can be prepared for any possible Indian action.Section-144 in Karachi, strict steps in the name of securityAccording to the report of ARY News, the Police Commissioner of Karachi has ordered the imposition of Section-144 for the next three months. Its purpose is to control the crowd and deal with any unexpected situation. Karachi is the financial capital of Pakistan, from where the economic pulse of the whole country is operated. Security agencies fear that if any major tension rises, it will have a direct impact on the country's economy.Attempts to garner support from Muslim countriesPakistan has sought refuge in Muslim countries to normalize the situation. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has contacted the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran and Turkey. Pakistan is appealing to these countries to put diplomatic pressure on India.Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto also commented on the situation and said that no response is being received to the messages sent to India. This has further increased Pakistan's uneasiness.Demand for intervention from America and Iran tooPakistan has also appealed to powerful countries like America and Iran to intervene in the matter. Pakistan claims that if India does not take the initiative for talks, the situation can become even more serious.Fear of surgical strike, lesson from historyPakistan's fear seems even more justified in view of India's past actions. India carried out surgical strikes on Pakistan 11 days after the Uri attack in 2016 and 12 days after the Pulwama attack in 2019. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has publicly pledged to root out terrorism, which is spreading panic within Pakistan.Given past experiences, Pakistan fears that India may again take decisive action - and that too without any warning.
