Cricket Desk: Team India ended the home season in international cricket with a top-class victory over England in all three formats – Test series by 3-1, T20I series by 3-2, and the ODI series by 2-1. Men In Blue were impressive enough in all three facets of the game to make life tough for the opposition across all formats.

In the limited-overs series, Shardul Thakur was the wrecker-in-chief by leading the wicket-taking charts in both ODI and T20I series. Though Bhuvneshwar Kumar did exceedingly well in terms of economy rate, Thakur dominated the opposition by picking some crucial wickets and kept the Indian team on top.

Shardul was not only a star with the ball but also with the willow. In the third ODI of the series, Thakur came up with a cameo of 21-ball 30-run knock which helped India in going past the 300-run mark. His knock included one four and three sixes. One six off Ben Stokes’ bowling stole the limelight during his innings when Stokes came towards Thakur and checked his bat.

Shardul Thakur’s middle finger moment steals the limelight

In one of the limelight stealing moments, Shardul Thakur was spotted bowling with his middle finger. The moment went viral on Twitter with many Twitter users coming up with interesting memes on the Indian pacer. The ball seems to be a new variant of knuckleball to outfox the opposition batsmen.

Shardul was in good form with the ball in the third ODI game as he went on to pick four crucial wickets to turn the game upside down. He picked the wickets of Dawid Malan, Liam Livingstone, Jos Buttler, and Adil Rashid. In response to India’s 329/10, England went on to post 322/9 in 50 overs. Sam Curran almost gave India a heartbreak with his unbeaten 95-run knock.

Even after losing the ODI series, England stayed on top of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League points table with 40 points with four wins and five defeats. India are currently at the seventh spot with 29 points. Australia, New Zealand and Afghanistan occupy the other three spots on the top of the table.
