LSG vs GT / Shardul-Puran stopped GT's victory chariot, LSG achieved a hat-trick of victories

LSG vs GT: Surprising everyone, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has continued its brilliant performance in IPL 2025. Led by Shardul Thakur, the bowlers stopped the pace of runs by bowling on the exact line-length. In the last over, Shardul dismissed Sharfan Rutherford and Rahul Tewatia on consecutive balls and stopped Gujarat at 180 runs, which once seemed like a score of 200+.

Pant flopped again, but Pooran-Markram created havoc

For Lucknow, captain Rishabh Pant, who came out to open in the absence of Mitchell Marsh, could add some runs this time but still did not live up to expectations and was out in the 7th over. After his dismissal, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran took the responsibility and started scoring runs in a stormy manner.

Markram hit his second consecutive half-century in just 26 balls, while Pooran completed his fifty by hitting a flurry of sixes in just 23 balls. The partnership between these two took Lucknow past 120 runs in just 11 overs.

Gujarat's comeback, but Badoni became the hero

However, after Markram's dismissal in the 12th over and Pooran's in the 16th over, Gujarat's spin bowlers did make a comeback in the match to some extent. They slowed down the run rate and took the match to the last over. But, Ayush Badoni, who remained at the crease in the last over, hit a four and a brilliant six to give the team victory.
