The poor form of Rohit and Virat has now forced the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly to make a statement. Ganguly, however, has said that he is not worried about Rohit and Virat's form as the T20 World Cup is still far away.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said in a conversation with Mid-Day, 'I am not at all worried about the form of Virat-Rohit. He is very good, and a big player. The T20 World Cup is still far away and I am confident that both of them will be in their best form before the start of the tournament. After the end of IPL 2022, India has to play a 5-match T20 series against South Africa from June 9 and Rohit and Virat are likely to be rested in this series.

Virat's performance in IPL 2022

In the 15th season of the league, Virat has scored 236 runs in 13 matches at an average of less than 20. During this his strike rate has also been 113. He has been able to score only one fifty so far this season. But he has also been a victim of Golden Duck three times. Kohli's worst performance in 14 years of IPL. Earlier, Kohli had scored less runs in the first season of IPL i.e. 2008.

Rohit's poor performance in IPL 2022

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is in worse condition than Virat. In the 15th season, he has scored 218 runs in 12 matches at an average of 18 and a strike rate of 125. He could not score a single half-century in this season for Mumbai Indians. Due to their poor performance, Mumbai was the first to be out of the race for the playoffs.
