China-Taiwan News: Taiwan's President Lai Ching Te has given a big advice to China at the conclusion of his first foreign tour. He warned China to abandon the policy of threat and pressure and adopt the path of peace and cooperation. President Ching Te said that China should extend its arms to establish friendly relations with its neighboring countries, and not try to intimidate them with military exercises and threats.

Ching Te made this statement at a press conference on Friday in the Pacific Ocean island nation of Palau. His statement came at a time when there is speculation that China will conduct military exercises around Taiwan in response to his visit. He said in clear words, "Resorting to warships, aircraft and military exercises to compel any country cannot be the way to gain respect."

Tension in China-Taiwan relations

Relations between China and Taiwan have long been tense. China considers Taiwan as its part and has repeatedly threatened that if Taiwan takes steps towards independence, force can be used. Recently, China imposed sanctions on 13 American companies and six officials after the US sold weapons to Taiwan.

Ching Te said in this context, "When authoritarian countries meet each other, it is time for democratic countries to stand together. We should work together to ensure global and regional stability and development."

Appeal for peace and cooperation

Lai Ching Te gave the message to China that to maintain peace in the region, it is necessary to adopt the path of dialogue and cooperation instead of disputes and threats. He said that extending arms to neighboring countries and giving them respect is the basis for long-term stability and development.

First foreign tour and China's reaction

This tour was also important for Ching Te because it was his first international tour after becoming President in May. However, China saw it as an attempt to strengthen Taiwan's international relations and expressed displeasure.

This statement of the President of Taiwan has raised questions on China's attitude in the region and it has given a clear message that Taiwan gives priority to peace and democratic values. This incident is proof that even small countries have the courage to challenge big countries, provided they have a strong policy of dialogue and cooperation.
