Darryl Mitchell (63) and Glenn Phillips (34) tried to handle the innings, but the Indian bowlers did not give them a chance to play freely. In the end, Michael Bracewell played a quick innings of 53 runs in 40 balls, helping New Zealand post a competitive score of 251 runs.

Shreyas Iyer (48) and Axar Patel (29) together handled Team India's innings. When India needed only a few runs to win, after the dismissal of Hardik Pandya (18), KL Rahul (34 not out) along with Ravindra Jadeja made India the champion of the Champions Trophy.
