Along with this, a campaign to remove plastic waste and clean the waste was also launched.

In the second phase, emphasis on increasing the number of migratory birds in Gil Sar lake

In the second phase of the mission, a concerted effort was made to restore the old water channel and the 19 springs that filled the lake. To spread more and more awareness about the importance of this restoration project, local people and youth were also made water ambassadors.

Now the local people here are also making efforts for increasing the number of migratory birds and fish in the Gil Saar lake and are also happy to see it. I congratulate the people of Srinagar for this wonderful effort.

PM has given recognition to the campaign across the country: Kaul
