Although there has been no response from Meta in this matter yet, but the FCCPC said that the company was aware of the investigation to be held between May 2021 and December 2023.Violation happened during ad-free subscriptionThe European Union (EU) accused Meta in early July of violating the block's digital rules, saying that Meta is offering millions of users to pay money on Facebook and Instagram's new model in ad-free subscription or in addition agree to share their data to run these platforms for free.People are hyper-connected to social mediaData shared by the National Communications Commission some time ago showed that people under the age of 24 in Africa's most populous country are hyper-connected to social media. A report released said that as of March, the country had about 164.3 million internet subscriptions, out of which more than 51 million people in Nigeria use WhatsApp.
