Trump said in his statement, "If China does not remove the tariffs by April 8, an additional 50% duty will be imposed." This statement was given on 'Truth Social', which has further soured the trade relations between the two countries.

Not only this, Trump has also warned of postponing all the current talks with China. He has also talked about imposing new customs duties on about 60 countries including India, due to which America's stance is looking even more aggressive.

Analysts say that this move may be part of Trump's policy to revive domestic manufacturing, but its global consequences can be serious. The US has already imposed a 34% duty on goods imported from China and now this percentage can reach 84%.
