Wrestlers Protest: United World Wrestling (UWW) on Tuesday condemned the treatment meted out to the protesting wrestlers after a scuffle with the Delhi Police and their detention on May 28. Also threatened to suspend WFI. The UWW said that what is more worrying is that the wrestlers were arrested by the police for starting the protest march. At the same time, the UWW also expressed disappointment over the investigation into allegations of sexual harassment on Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Along with this, he also urged the officials to conduct a fair investigation.

WFI will be suspended!

Meanwhile, the biggest organization of wrestling also gave a big statement. United World Wrestling (UWW) said that if the WFI is not elected within 45 days, it can also be suspended.

Matches will be played under neutral flag

At the same time, UWW said that it will organize a meeting with the wrestlers to know about their condition and security. Explain that if the WFI is suspended, then the athletes will have to play further matches with neutral flags. Last month, UWW president Nenad Lalovic wrote a letter to the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), seeking clarity on who is running the sport in the country. In response, the WFI complained about government interference in their affairs.

Announcement to shed your medal in river Ganga

According to the information, under the ongoing protest against sexual harassment, the aggrieved wrestlers had announced on Tuesday to shed their medals in the country's holy river Ganges. The protest is being led by two women wrestlers, Olympic medalist Sakshi Malik and World Championship medalist Vinesh Phogat. At the same time, he changed his mind after Naresh Tikait reached the site and persuaded the wrestlers to give five days to reply to the government.

Wrestlers open front against Brijbhushan

Two FIRs registered against Brijbhushan

Let us tell you that all the wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, were protesting at Jantar Mantar since April 23, accusing the WFI chief of sexual harassment. Even before this, on January 18, the wrestlers demonstrated. At the same time, on the orders of the Supreme Court, the Delhi Police has registered two FIRs against Brij Bhushan. At present, the matter is to be heard in the court on July 6.
