Yuvraj Singh, a veteran of 304 One Day Internationals, talks about his many on and off-field interactions with Kohli. Both the batsmen have played together for the Indian team and Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2014.

Kohli is the most successful Test captain

Virat Kohli recently ended his tenure as the fourth most successful captain in Test history, winning 40 of the 68 matches he led India in. Yuvraj, who played 40 Tests, told how Kohli inspired many players of the country with his hard work. Yuvraj Singh tweeted, 'I want to give my special shoe to the little boy (Virat Kohli) of Delhi. He is celebrating his career as a captain, which has brought smiles to millions of fans across the world. I hope you stay as you are, play the way you do and keep making the country proud.

Bridges tied for praise of Virat

Yuvraj wrote in the letter, 'Virat, I have seen you grow as a cricketer and a person. From that young player in the nets (who used to walk shoulder to shoulder with the stalwarts of Indian cricket) you are now a legend yourself, who led the nation. Your discipline, passion and devotion to the game on the field has inspired every young child in this country to take up the bat and dream of wearing the blue jersey one day. Yuvraj Singh heaped praise on the 33-year-old Kohli, saying that as one of the most successful Test captains in the game, he has been an inspiration to the youth for his hard work and determination.

He further added, 'You have raised the level of your cricket every year and have already achieved so much in this wonderful game that it makes you even more excited to start this new chapter in your career. You have been a great captain and a great leader. I am looking forward to many more famous run chases from you. Former Punjab Kings captain Yuvraj also presented a special edition of the Golden Boots to Kohli, saying the star batsman may be 'King Kohli' to the world, but for him he will always be cheeky.
