During the launch of the iPhone 16e, Apple announced that all variants of the iPhone 16 series, including this model, will be manufactured in India. The company is prioritizing local manufacturing in India and plans to export Indian-made iPhones to other countries. Due to the PLI (Production Linked Incentive) scheme initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, mobile manufacturing in India has accelerated.
Last year, Apple set a record for exporting iPhones manufactured in India, and this number is continuously increasing. The production of the iPhone 16e will help establish India as a global smartphone manufacturing hub.
