The party is also demanding the release of its 72-year-old founder Khan, who has been imprisoned for more than a year. Pakistan Army troops were deployed in Islamabad to ensure security ahead of the protest called by Khan at D-Chowk on Saturday. The army will remain in the city from October 5 to 17 to maintain law and order for the upcoming SCO. Authorities have taken strict measures to prevent PTI workers from entering Islamabad, all highways leading to the city have been blocked and mobile phone services have been suspended.
