Union Minister Thakur had said that the additional LPG connections to be provided during the next three years will incur a financial burden of Rs 1650 crore. As per the existing modalities of Ujjwala 2.0, the first refill and stove will also be provided free of cost to the beneficiaries.About 10 crore Ujjwala beneficiaries in the countryA month ago, the Union Cabinet had decided to reduce the prices of LPG cylinders by Rs 200, giving relief to the citizens. For example, due to this decision in Delhi, the price of 14.2 kg cylinder has come down to Rs 903 from the current Rs 1,103 per cylinder. This was in addition to the existing targeted subsidy of Rs 200 per cylinder to Ujjwala families, which will continue. After this cut, the effective price for Ujjwala beneficiaries in Delhi became Rs 703 per cylinder.
