The state government is preparing to relax restrictions after a sharp drop in corona cases in Maharashtra. The state executive committee has decided to lift almost all restrictions as per the directions of the central government, but a final decision will be taken by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray after consultations with the state-appointed task force and other officials. However, wearing a mask will be mandatory.What are the restrictions currentlyThe state has currently made double-dose vaccination mandatory for those entering establishments including malls and theatres, and traveling by public transport. Strict restrictions have been imposed for districts not meeting the prescribed criteria for exemption based on vaccination percentage and positivity rate. Restrictions in such places include restrictions on political, social and religious gatherings.
