The Lucknow Division of Northern Railway is set to carry out repair work on the Ganga Bridge. Due to this maintenance, the railway has decided to implement a mega traffic block. A total of 74 trains will be affected, including prominent ones such as Jhansi Express, Mumbai Express, Pune Express, Gorakhpur Express, Neelanchal Express, and Shatabdi Express.
Senior DCM Kuldeep Tiwari stated that due to the repair work, the railway section will remain closed for nine hours daily. The maintenance of the bridge is essential to increase train speed. He also informed that trains 51813/14 (Jhansi-Lucknow) and 64203/04 (Lucknow-Kanpur Central MEMU) will remain canceled from March 20 to May 1.
Passengers traveling on the Kanpur-Lucknow rail route may face difficulties from March 20 to April 30, 2025. During this period, 32 trains will be completely canceled, while 42 trains will be diverted to alternative routes. Some trains will terminate at intermediate stations. The railway administration has made special arrangements for passenger convenience.
The railway administration has diverted trains running from Kanpur Central to Lucknow via Prayagraj. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

The Swarna Shatabdi Express will reach Lucknow via Ghaziabad instead of the Aligarh-Etawah-Kanpur Central route from March 20 to April 30.
