Haryana Election: Out of the 90 assembly seats in Haryana, there are 4 seats where independent candidates have dominated. Independents have been winning in Pundri, Nuh, Nilokheri, and Hathin. Independents have been winning in Pundri since 1996, Nuh till 2005, Nilokheri till 2019, and Hathin till 2009. Independent candidates have been holding these seats for a long time, and the number of independent MLAs in the state also keeps fluctuating.

1. Pundri - Independents have been winning the Pundri assembly seat of Kaithal district since 1996. Independent candidates have won this seat 7 times so far. Ishwar Singh won as an independent for the first time in 1968. Singh had defeated Congress candidate Tara Singh at that time.Ishwar Singh joined the Congress after winning as an independent. In 1996, Narendra Sharma won this seat as an independent for the second time.
