Dussehra 2024 : Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is one of the most important festivals of Hinduism. This festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil. This year Dussehra is being celebrated on 12 October 2024. On this day, Lord Shri Ram killed Ravana and freed Mother Sita, which is the main basis of this festival. Along with this, Goddess Durga also killed Mahishasura on this day, so it is also celebrated as Mahishasura Mardini festival.
Religious and cultural significance of DussehraDussehra is celebrated on the Dashami date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. On this day, effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakaran, and Meghnad are burnt all over India, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil.
