According to the report submitted by Delhi Government's Vigilance Department to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, Rs 52.71 crore has been spent on the renovation of the CM's official residence. According to information received from government sources on Thursday, the Vigilance Department has prepared its report according to the records received from the PWD department. The report states that out of Rs 52.71 crore, Rs 33.49 crore has been spent on renovation of the house and Rs 19.22 crore has been spent on a camp office of the CM.

AAP says that for 9 years continuous efforts have been made to tarnish the image of CM Arvind Kejriwal, when BJP could not succeed in this, now it has targeted CM's residence. In a statement issued by the party, it has been said that in the report submitted by the Vigilance Department, nowhere has it been written that any crime has been committed. This is the first time that an official residential complex has been built for the CM, which includes the chief minister's residence, an office secretariat, an auditorium and staff quarters.

The house was old, so PWD ordered to demolish it

The report submitted by Vigilance states that in 2020, the then PWD minister had proposed to upgrade the CM residence by adding several rooms, including a drawing room, two meeting rooms and a dining room with a capacity of 24 people. Was. Simultaneously, the PWD had proposed to demolish the structure of the CM residence at 6 Flag Road on the ground that it was built in 1942-43 and its term had also been completed in 1997.

The PWD had recommended additional construction and renovation in the CM's residence. It has been said in the report that after the completion of the construction work of the residence, the Chief Minister and his family may shift to the new bungalow and the existing bungalow may be demolished.

20 crores were to be spent and it became 52 crores

According to the report, the PWD had estimated the cost of this entire renovation to be Rs 15 to 20 crores. In which the first tender of about Rs 8 crore was given on 2020, although there was no mention of the construction of a new house.
