Tamil Nadu News: Eight people, including three women, were killed in an explosion at a firecracker unit in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday. Several people were injured in a sudden explosion at a firecracker manufacturing godown in Pazhayapettai in the district. According to the police, the blast was so powerful that houses and some shops near the unit were damaged. Police and fire and rescue service personnel have reached the spot to rescue the affected.According to initial information, most of the victims are people who were passing through the unit at the time of the blast. The explosion took place around 10 am, reducing a house near the firecracker unit, a welding shop, another separate shop and a restaurant to rubble.The victims were identified as Ravi, Jayshree, Ruthika, Rutesh, Rajeshari, Ibrahim, Imran and one other person. It is believed that some more people are trapped in the debris of the building, currently the work of removing the debris is going on.7 on the spot, one later diedSP Saroj Kumar Thakor said that 7 people have been declared brought dead and some other injured have been taken to the nearest government hospital for treatment. The next of kin of each deceased will be given Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund and Rs 50,000 to the injured.Chief Minister announced compensationTamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has expressed grief over the death of eight people. Expressing his condolences, he announced an assistance of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of each of the deceased. Apart from this, one lakh rupees will be given as compensation to the injured. The injured are being treated at Philahal Hospital. For those who have suffered minor injuries, the CM has announced an assistance of Rs 50,000. The compensation will be released from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.Stalin said he has appointed Tamil Nadu Food and Civil Supplies Minister R.K. Sakkarapani has been sent to the spot and has also directed that special care should be taken of the people undergoing treatment in the hospital.Amit Shah saddened by the accidentOn the other hand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed grief over the accident. Amit Shah tweeted that the fire accident in a firecracker factory in Krishnagiri is sad.
