In the last 24 hours, 9 people have died due to lightning in 6 districts of Bihar. CM Nitish Kumar has expressed deep grief over this incident. He has also directed to give compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

2 people died in Madhepur and 3 in Jehanabad

3 people died in Jehanabad, 2 in Madhepura, 1 in East Champaran, 1 in Rohtas, 1 in Saran and 1 in Supaul district due to lightning. Even before this, many people have lost their lives due to lightning in Bihar. Amidst heavy rains, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has appealed to the people to follow the advice issued by the Disaster Management Department.

Last week, 7 people died due to lightning

Let us tell you that a week ago, on July 1, 7 people lost their lives due to lightning in Buxar, Bhojpur, Bhagalpur, Aurangabad of Bihar. CM Nitish Kumar had expressed deep grief over this incident. Even then CM Nitish Kumar had announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

Water level of rivers increased due to heavy rains

Due to torrential rains in Bihar in the last 24 hours, the water level of various rivers has started rising at many places. The Water Resources Department (WRD) said that in the last 3 days, heavy rains have occurred in many districts including Banka, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Buxar, Gaya, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Patna, Nawada, Purnia, Saran, Sheikhpura, Siwan and Vaishali. Due to heavy rains, rivers, ponds and canals are overflowing. People living in low-lying areas in East and West Champaran districts have been shifted to safer places by the district administration.
