The Afghan security forces are now cracking down on Taliban terrorists. During the last 48 hours in Afghanistan, 172 terrorists have been killed in the Afghan National Defense and Security Force (ANDSF)'s serial action against Taliban militants. This information was given by the Afghan Defense Ministry.

According to the Afghan army, 172 Taliban militants were killed and more than 100 were injured in the operation launched by the ANDSF in Nangarhar, Kandahar, Faryab, Nimruz, Badakhshan and Takhar provinces. Qari Rahmatullah, one of the commanders of the Taliban group, was also among the dead terrorists.

During the operation a large number of weapons were recovered and many powerful explosives were defused. The US-mediated peace process between the Afghan government and the Taliban began in September-2020, but the result has been the same. At the same time, incidents of violence have increased in the country in the last few months.

Even a few weeks ago, more than 100 terrorists were killed in Afghanistan. According to Khama Press, the ministry said that more than 100 militants were killed in clashes between Afghan government forces and the Taliban. Not only this, 50 terrorists were injured during the operation at different places, many weapons were confiscated and some amount of ammunition was destroyed.

Significantly, violence and Taliban insurgency have increased dramatically in Afghanistan in recent days. Although the Taliban has not yet officially declared a claim, it has practically started attacking security posts and convoys in several places across the country.
