Gautam Adani: Most of the companies of the Adani Group, led by billionaire businessman Gautam Adani, have denied receiving notices regarding the US investigation into bribery allegations, but the group's renewable company Adani Green has said that it is being investigated by an unaffiliated third party. He is familiar with investigations into potential violations of US anti-corruption laws. However, the company has denied any connection with the alleged third party.

Let us tell you, the stock exchanges had asked the Adani Group companies to comment on the media report in which it was said that an investigation was being conducted in America into the alleged involvement of any Adani Group unit in bribery.

All companies sent replies

Replies have been sent to the exchange on behalf of all the companies of Adani Group. He has termed this alleged report as false and said that he has not received any notice from the US government agencies regarding bribery. However, Adani Green said it is aware of an investigation by the US Department of Justice into possible violations of US anti-corruption laws by a third party. But the company has not received any notice in this matter. We don't have much connection with that third party. We are therefore unable to comment on the scope of the current US investigation into whether the Company or any of its personnel have or are in contact with third parties in connection with the alleged transactions.

JP Morgan issued note

Finance company JP Morgan has issued a note on the issue, saying there are very few details available about the investigation. Because of this the investigation may not reach any conclusion. Because of this, it will have very limited impact. Assuming this news is true, the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) forms the legal basis for such an investigation.
