Gautam Adani News: The difficult journey to Kedarnath Dham will no longer be the same as before. A big relief news has come for the pilgrims. Now the 8-9 hour long climb on foot can be completed in just 36 minutes, that too through a state-of-the-art ropeway. This ambitious project has been approved by the government on the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model at a cost of Rs 4,081 crore. Its construction work will be completed in the next six years, and after that the operation will remain in the hands of the private sector for 35 years.

Big proposal of Adani Enterprises

In this project, Adani Enterprises has proposed 42% revenue sharing with the government, which shows a big economic partnership. Three out of a total of four bidders have shown interest in sharing revenue with NHLML (National Highway Logistics Management Limited). This is an impressive model of income generation for the government without capital investment.

Technology and Capacity

This ropeway project will be based on Tri-cable Detachable Gondola (3S) technology, which is one of the most advanced ropeway technologies in the world. This system will have the capacity to carry 36 passengers at a time. Through this, about 18,000 pilgrims per day, and about 32 lakh devotees will be able to travel throughout the year.

World's longest ropeway

This project is one of the dream projects of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will be the longest ropeway in the world, which will be built from Sonprayag to Kedarnath Dham. In the first phase, a 9.7 km long ropeway will be built from Gaurikund to Kedarnath, which will make the difficult mountain journey very easy and accessible.

Proposal for Hemkund Sahib too

The government's plan is not limited to Kedarnath only. Another 12.4 km long ropeway project is proposed from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib via Ghangaria, whose estimated cost is Rs 2,730 crore. Through this, 11,000 passengers will be able to travel daily.

Local economy will get a boost

Such ropeway projects will not only provide relief to pilgrims, but will also strengthen the tourism industry and local economy of Uttarakhand. New employment opportunities, increasing demand for small traders and development of infrastructure – all these are the far-reaching benefits of this project.
