Serum Institute of India (SII) CEO Adar Poonawalla claimed that his Covax vaccine would be approved as an anti-Covid-19 'booster' dose in the next 10 to 15 days. Regarding states and districts not getting Covishield vaccines, he said that the central government has enough stock of vaccines for supply.

Poonawalla said, “Covax will get approval in the next 10-15 days as a ‘booster’ dose. It is actually the best booster as it is very effective against Omicron as compared to Covishield.

'Everyone is looking towards India with hope'

Poonawalla said that everyone is looking towards India with hope, not only in terms of healthcare but also because the country has managed to take care of a vast and diverse population and it has increased the number of patients from 70 to 70 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
