ISKCON Kolkata spokesperson Radharam Das has claimed that lawyer Raman Roy was attacked by fundamentalists in his house. The attack was so severe that he had to be admitted to the ICU. According to Radharam Das, Raman Roy's "crime" was only that he was fighting Chinmay Krishna Das's case.

Islamic fundamentalists have been accused of vandalism and violence in Roy's house. Radharam Das shared Raman Roy's picture on social media and wished him a speedy recovery. He said, "This incident reflects the growing threat to minorities in Bangladesh and those who stand in their support."

Chinmay Krishna Das' arrest case

Chinmay Krishna Das, who is the spokesperson of Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jot, was arrested at Dhaka airport on 25 November. He is accused of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh during a rally of the Hindu community in Chittagong. After this incident, a case of treason was registered against him at the Kotwali police station in Chittagong.

However, there is anger in the Hindu community over this arrest. Demonstrations are being held across the country in support of his release.

Decreasing number of Hindu population in Bangladesh

At the time of Bangladesh's independence war in 1971, the Hindu community was 22 percent of the country's total population. But now this number has come down to about 8 percent. This change reflects the increasing persecution and migration against minorities.
