At the same time, he said that within three days of the dissolution of the National Assembly under Article-224A, Sharif and Riyaz will together decide the name of a leader for the post of caretaker Prime Minister.According to the constitution, the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition have to agree on the name of the caretaker Prime Minister within 3 days. If the two leaders do not agree on any name, then the matter will be sent to the parliamentary committee. If the parliamentary committee is also unable to take a decision, the Election Commission of Pakistan will have the right to decide the name of the caretaker PM. However, the commission will have to choose the name of the acting PM from the list shared and for this he will have two days.
