PM Modi In Kuwait: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit to Kuwait proved to be an important step towards giving new dimensions to the relations between India and Kuwait. This visit is also historic because this is the first time in the last 43 years that an Indian Prime Minister has visited Kuwait.Guard of Honor and highest honor welcomeAfter reaching Kuwait on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given a guard of honor at Kuwait's prestigious 'Bayan Palace' on Sunday. Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah personally welcomed the Prime Minister. During this visit, Kuwait honored Prime Minister Modi with its highest civilian honor 'The Order of Mubarak Al Kabir'.This honor is given by Kuwait to leaders who contribute to foreign policy and strengthen mutual relations. PM Modi received this 20th international honor, which reflects his global diplomatic ability and India's growing international role.Dedicated the honor to the people of IndiaAfter receiving the honor, Prime Minister Modi dedicated it to the citizens of India and the deep friendship between the two countries, saying, "This honor is a symbol of the strong and close India-Kuwait ties. I dedicate this honor to the 1.4 billion people of India."Bilateral talks and strategic partnershipDuring his visit, PM Modi met the Emir and Crown Prince of Kuwait and discussed expanding cooperation in various fields. The focus of their talks was on key areas like pharmaceuticals, IT, fintech, infrastructure and security.Prime Minister Modi tweeted after the meeting with the Emir of Kuwait, "We have resolved to take our bilateral relations to a strategic level. This partnership between Kuwait and India will benefit both countries in the long term." Apart from this, delegation level talks were also held between the two countries, in which several agreements were discussed.Historical relations between India and KuwaitIndia and Kuwait have long-standing cultural, economic and diplomatic relations. Nearly 1 million Indians live in Kuwait, who are an integral part of the economy there. Kuwait is also an important energy partner for India in the Gulf region.Significance of the visit and future directionThis visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proved to be a milestone in giving new direction and strength to the relations between the two countries. While India further strengthened its diplomatic power, Kuwait openly appreciated the Indian leadership and its contribution.Through this visit, India has expressed its intention to deepen and broaden its relations with the Gulf countries.
