Tension began out on the Umlapher location withinside the morning after one employee of the Assam Police camp allegedly misbehaved with a person from the bordering State on Monday night time at a checkpoint, SP of West Karbi Anglong district A. Basumatary said. There isn't any restriction on crossing the inter-State border.


In protest in opposition to the “ill-treatment”, a set of humans from Meghalaya gheraoed the Assam Police camp at Umlapher and a number of them broken a bunker of the camp.


The West Karbi Anglong superintendent of police rushed to the spot and held discussions together along with his counterpart of neighbouring Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya. The state of affairs became defused and normalcy restored, “It became an end result of a misunderstanding. Everything is non-violent now,” Mr Basumatary instructed PTI.
